Authorities have so far filed complaints against five individuals for allegedly spreading false information on the government’s vaccination program, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Monday.

The Department of Health on Monday said 8,900 more Filipinos contracted the COVID-19, with the country's total count now at 1,667,714.

"These body-worn cameras will serve as the constant reminder for them to be courteous at all times and at the same time, their protection against claims and allegations of abuses."

Currently, minors are not included in the inoculation drive due to limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines.

The country has 450 cases of the variant seen to be driving a surge across Southeast Asia, which experts said may now include the Philippines. 

More than 11 million Filipinos have completed their doses of vaccine against COVID-19, government data released on Monday showed.

Less than two weeks ago, the Philippines was at “moderate” risk classification. 

"Our police will not stop those with scheduled medical check-ups from crossing to other cities and those who will deliver them," Eleazar said.

“Mercury-containing skin lightening products are hazardous to health."

In a statement, the DOH reported there was an overall 59% increase in cases among age groups from July 13 to 25 to July 26 to August 8.
