The National Telecommunications Commission's decision to grant the frequencies previously held by ABS-CBN to a media company linked to former senator Manny Villar was based on its rules and on existing laws, Malacañang said Wednesday.

Ninety-five percent of the newly-reported cases occurred from January 13 to 26, according to the Department of Health.

"It's with the Ombudsman. We're not hiding anything...that's the law, that's what we're supposed to do, and it's important."

The Department of Education said on Wednesday that all public schools now have annual access to Adobe Creative Cloud, as the agency ramps up efforts to improve digital literacy among teachers and students.

By law, the Philippine government recognizes that human rights violations were committed under the elder Marcos.

The Senate moved to adopt three concurrent resolutions seeking to grant amnesty to members of three rebel groups who may have committed crimes "in pursuit of their political beliefs."

"We'll just wait to hear from President Duterte [on] what we thinks of the different candidates running to succeed him in June 2022," the spokesperson of Partido Reporma said on Wednesday.
