Liquid lava from the volcano in Geldingadalir is already squeezing out of the older lava field because of the weight of the new lava flowing on top of the old one.

The police in the Reykjanes peninsula has issued a statement saying that the eruption site will continue to be closed today because of the weather. It is likely that it won't open until tomorrow morning.
